Global Cooking School (GCS) Private Dining Guests in the USA can order these wine packages as a single bottle or multiple bottles (sealed containers only) from By Women. GCS guests receive a 40%+ discount price, off standard restaurant pricing.  All arrangements have been made for your off-premises sales to be delivered by the By Women directly or delivered by the third party, GCS,  to the location of the guest’s pre-booked private party. Guests can take home the wine they do not finish.

Wine Food Pairings
#1 The Rule of Spice.  The spicier the food, the colder and sweeter the wine should be. You should also have lower-alcoholic wine and limit the tannins to control the pepper/capsicum effect. Bitters heighten bitterness. When cooking with spiced and spicy dishes, it is best to stay away from the components in wine that contribute to bitterness like tannins, alcohol, and oak. Sweet wines help to balance the harshness of the pungent dish.

#2 Green Foods. Fresh green herbs beg for wines with higher acidity and more herbaceous flavors. Cava and Sauvignon Blanc are great examples of herbaceous wines with higher acidity. Match the acidity of the wine with the acidity in the food. Acidity is a powerful flavour component in wine that contributes to fresh, tart, and sour qualities. Acidity envelopes the palate and provides a ‘richness in the mouth’ feel to the wine. Additionally, the sweetness is heightened. Highly acid foods, such as pickled vegetables, will knock out a wine with medium to low acidity, and the wine will become insipid or flat. 

#3 Perfect Bites. Umami foods need sweet wines or a slash of acid. This is the most difficult pairing as the term “umami” refers to food that has become all it can be, in a perfect state of grace. Wine in all of its elegance is not subtle and is a dominant player in the culinary scene. So it is hard to pair an aggressive partner with a perfect dish.

By Women has a long history of designing menu pairings featured at the James Beard House in NYC and with Worldchefs Certified Master Chef Hari Pulapaka as their Creative Wine Director.  Some of our “Sold Out” wines may return if their inventory becomes available.  If not, they will be removed.

Finally, the NEW FEATURE During Checkout is "Order Notes"

Order Notes: During checkout, on the confirmation page, customers can NOW leave a short note and IDENTIFY THE DATE OF THE DINNER they are attending.  This helps to eliminate the confusion.

If you are ordering for multiple nights, please email me pulapaka@bywomenmarketplace.com.   Also, wait to pre-order wines until 3-4 weeks before your dinner. We do not have room to store wines for months in advance.

Another feature released is “Additional Receipt Email,”  which allows users to enter an additional email to which they may want to send order confirmations while checking out. This can be optional. It does not tie into the user’s account. It is merely linked to the order in which they enter it.
